Symphony No. 2 (ProLife Symphony)

II : March for Life

This recording is one of my earlier works. With a broad instrumental range and notes soaring across all pitch levels, Love and Lilies has become a fan favorite among my audiences.

The Clartist Suite for clarinet quartett

III - Marlene's Theme

The 3rd movement is dedicated to a member of The Clartist, Marlene Wendl, who plays the 3rd clarinet. The music explains specifically about the character of the person according to the description given by https://www.theclartists.com/ueber-uns

The Clartist Suite for clarinet quartett

VI : Haydn (?) - Franz-Josef's Theme

When we heard the name Franz-Josef, there are 2 possibilites, either he is musical or political. In this case, the music tells us more about the musical part of course, instead of political. Why musical? Well, Haydn's first name is also Franz-Joseph and the title I wrote is actually the joke as well as a prank for the 2nd clarinetist (the one who plays beside bass clarinet at the right side).

The Clartist Suite for clarinet quartett

VII : Finalle

This movement is not only the instruments play the role, but also using the body-percussion such as stomping and finger-snap. The idea is, that as I hear them playing "That's Plenty (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AonD... )" for stomping and Luiz Bonfa's "La chanson d'Orphée (Manha do Carnaval)" for finger-snap.

ASTRA(F)OBIA

The word Astra(f)obia is derived from the word Astraphobia means excessively fear of thunderstorm. It makes someone not just afraid, but also depressed and panic attacked. For them thunder means a hammer, terror, horror and anger, due to it's shocking, loud and unpredictable sound.

The composition was premiered by Bandung Philharmonic, due to be selected during the 5th Young Indonesian Composer Competition in Bandung.

13 Tears - 13 Tränen

The composition was inspired from the picture of 13 Tears, which was drawn by Rachel Joy Scott, who was murdered at 20th April 1999 at Columbine High School. The effects of clicking sounds of tears are produced from strings itself, such as col legno and secco pizzicato.

Quasi Una Sonata - Pour Anna (2019)

For cello and piano

Anna is my best friend of mine, when the composer was in Vienna doing his study of composition. We had many moments, while we were having projects within the church community such as Open Doors at Novum bei Wien Hauptbahnhof, playing at the church together, teached me how to ride a bicycle, even making recording of this composition, etc. Beside playing cello as her professional musical fields, she has an interest of dancing and even writing new Christian songs.

The composition describes mainly about her character, which in my opinion so colorful, such as funny, happy, cheerful and outgoing person, which is described by pizzicatos, Bartok-pizzicatos (as an expression of excitement of something), walz- like passages, etc. And yet there’s a melancholic and compassionate part of her, which is played and/or interpreted by the cello, as it plays the main melody. Of course there’s a sad part, which was played by solo cello itself without any accompaniment, but it continues again with a very cheerful situation on the next passage after the solo. Typical of this composition is the sudden situational contrast, e.g. from a very sad or moody passage, suddenly joyful without any notification or signs beforehand. The most important of this piece is that despite her sadness, she can bring joy to other.

The Story of Two Sisters

for Piano Solo

The composition was written to dedicate my best friends in my life, especially in the church life. The piece itself consists of two parts according to their bloodline relationship as siblings.

The first part is dedicated to the oldest sister herself to commemorate her 30th birthday in 2023. The second part is about the youngest sister, who has won the Masterchef Indonesia Season 10 as a Top 8. The title is called so, because the composition itself describes about the sisters and therefore it has 2 parts, which the first and the second part represent the oldest and the youngest respectively. Each part tells every single character of the person mostly based on the composer’s personal obeservation and friendship relation with them.

Angie's Wonder

for orchestra

This orchestral composition is also dedicated to @angie.mci10 as she was still fighting to be a winner at @masterchefindonesia_season10, but now ended up be a Top 8! It spesifically tells us about her character based on the composer's perspective, as the composer also a close friend of her. It was written last year and I hope this composition comforts you and gives you inspiration, especially for all contestants there! :)

Wiranata Overture

for orchestra

Original text and music by Angie Wiranata. Her original song can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwOULB_j3do&t=0s

The title Wiranata Overture actually is my own idea, because she wrote a very beautiful and mind-blowing new hymn! Yet the texts are so rich of biblical senses and sound. As I listened her hymn for the first time, I was so inspired and honestly speechless for the structure and her choosing of marching style, which means that we as believer, must have courage to preach the Gospel around the world with no fear. As a friend and brother in Christ, I decided to support her new hymn not just to be orchestrated, but also for her church to support her musically.

Dance of Celebration (D'Pesisir)

for ensemble

The music was written based on the title of the composition. It uses encryption system, which means each letters of the words become melody or sometimes harmony. In this case, I use this letter as a main theme of the music, in order to explain and tell this product. D'Pesisir is actually the product name of food beverages, created and produced by my best friend @angie.mci10 , who is now having cooking competition at Masterchef Indonesia Season 10, in order not only just to encourage her, but also to promote her products to all the world. Hope this music can also rise up this product. On the other hand, I chose the title as Dance of Celebration as well, due to its walzy-rhythmical pattern and shows the gladness and joyfullness, as they are celebrating their own graduation after their exhaustfull final exam periods.

City of Million Gardens

by Parahyangan Orchestra

City of Million Gardens was composed in 2014 and it was perfomed succesfully by Parahyangan Orchestra by Universitas Katholik Parahyangan under the baton of Afdhal Saniscaya Zikhri. The composition itself was written, as the composer was amazed by the beauty of the city, which is the one of the largest city in Indonesia, due to its cleannes, orderly obeyed the traffic rules, green gardens, etc., which is very rarely to be found in the most cities in Indonesia.

Cik-Cak-Ding

for winds ensemble, percussions, electric guitar, electric bass and piano.

The title is an abbreviation of the well-known Indonesian children song called Cicak-cicak di dinding (a house lizard on the wall). Basically it tells us that there is a house lizard crawls on the wall and suddenly it saws a mosquito and silently he catchs it with is sticky long tongue. However in this composition, I want to make it as if the lizard chases the mosquito, instead silently catchs it, such as Tom and Jerry like, because mosquitos are so annoying especially with its buzzing sounds around the human's ear. This come to the idea, that the player should do the acting as if they were annoyed by the flying mosqutios, either failed or successfull, by looking anywhere and clap it.

The music was premiered by Orkest de Ereprijs during the Young Composers Meeting 2024 at Gigant Theater, Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.
